Edward Tucker Architects Receives Sustainable Design Excellence Award at 2022 AIA WV Gala

ETA’s New Barboursville Public Library project for the Cabell County Public Library was honored with a Sustainable Design Excellence Award at the 2022 AIA West Virginia Design Awards Gala and Scholarship Benefit. The event was hosted at the West Virginia Culture Center at the Capitol Complex in Charleston.

The New Barboursville Public Library serves as a center for knowledge in its community, providing access to books, technology, and community spaces. The high-performance building design features insulated concrete form construction, geothermal wells for heating and cooling, and a 71-kilowatt solar array. The new library is the first in the state of West Virginia to feature geothermal heating and cooling. Located across the street from Barboursville Elementary School, the new building provides improved access for its youngest citizens.
