Edward Tucker Architects Receives Honor Award at 2016 AIA WV Gala

June 9, 2016

Our Cox Landing Library project for the Cabell County Public Libraries received an Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture at the 2016 AIA West Virginia Design Awards Gala and Scholarship Benefit.  The event was held this year at the West Virginia Culture Center at the Capitol Complex in Charleston.  We enjoyed celebrating the award with Judy Rule, Executive Director of the Cabell County Public Libraries, as well as representatives from MIRC Construction Services, the contractor for the project.  Jury chair, Rob Reis of Hanbury, Evans, Wright, Vlattas + Company in Norfolk, had the following comments regarding the project:  “The clarity of the elements that make up the building is really nice…  The light quality inside is pleasant – nicely filtered light… big windows, but little glare with the deep overhangs. …we continued coming back to the compositional quality and beyond appreciating that, really enjoying the idea of sitting with an i pad or relaxing with a book here.”
